Applications

The inspection task involves detecting hidden corrosion in metallic structures such as pipes and light poles, particularly in areas that are difficult to access, like under pipe supports. Using guided wave ultrasonics with dry-point-contact transducers, the system scans the full 360° circumference of the structure. During the inspection, the device collects data and generates B-scan images, allowing operators to identify and assess the location and severity of corrosion without removing the structure or interrupting operation.
